Tiny Rodeo Queen

If you told me a year ago I’d be putting my daughter in a rodeo queen contest I’d call you crazy, but here I am.  I’ll do anything to build her confidence and teach her that she can be anything she wants to be.  I think the more that kids are exposed to different opportunities the better off they are, so I put Eleni in the tiny rodeo queen contest.

Shirt- Cowgirl Hardware
Pants – Levis
Boots- Roper (this is the second pair of these boots Eleni has had.  They go with everything so we bought them again in a bigger size!)
Hat- Be Relentless
Belt- Rodeo Quincy
Mini Squash Blossom – Baha Ranch Western Wear

All of the little girls ages 2-5 get a stick horse and prizes for entering and they all win a crown.  Before going I told Eleni she was going to walk up on her stick horse and tell them her name.  Well, I assumed we had to take our own stick horse but when we got there we found out that they had horses for the girls.  They were made out of pool noodles and had felt glued on for a mane as well as plastic eyes.  Eleni got all shy and acted like she didn’t want to participate and I realized it was because she wanted her real stick horse, not the pool noodle version they were giving her.  So we went to the truck and grabbed her own stick horse and everything was fine after that!

Cousin Lucy also entered the queen contest and looked darling, as did the girls’ Aunt Page.

When Eleni turns 6 she will be old enough to enter riding her horse Sam, so we’ve got a little work to do between now and then!
